One of the most profound ideas I have ever learned from listening to Jim Rohn has to be this:
“Make Measurable Progress In A Reasonable Amount Of Time.” – Jim Rohn
Think about that for a minute. Make measurable progress in a reasonable amount of time.
This ties directly to personal accountability and our responsibility to ourselves, our family, our spouse, our co-workers, team etc…
Take a moment to reflect on your own progress in your business. Are you where you want to be? Have you made progress? If not, how far away are you from getting what you want? Who do you need to become to get there?
Remember Jim Rohn’s statement “make measurable progress in a reasonable amount of time” when you are evaluating your success. Reflecting on this can be an eye opener and allow you to “see your reality” of what you have accomplished (or have not accomplished.)
The reason this is so important is because the time we spend building our business is time we are not spending with those who are most important in our lives. How much sense does it make to dabble in your business and sacrifice time away from family and friends while not making any progress?
Don’t confuse activity with results.
Like any business their needs to be measurable results. If we are investing a large amount of time on activities what we feel are building our business, however we lack results – Then it’s time to seriously look at our activity and the value of that activity. It’s possible we are spending a lot of time on activity that has a low return on our time. If that’s the case it’s time to change what we are focusing on!
Focus on getting results today!
